Fall Faves

Sharing a few cozy favorites I'm loving this fall πŸ’› I don't know about you, but after this year, I feel like life's just too short not to be cozy all day long and absolutely love the things that surround you in your home! These are some of the things I'm wearing / using on repeat lately and I hope you love them too! πŸ˜™Tap on any image to shop!

Earthy Organic Playroom Updates

Over the years, this room has seen quite a few changes. From guest room to nursery to playroom, it has served many purposes and seen many different styles. Lately I've been craving a more earthy, neutral palette, so I partnered with my friends at Serena + Lily to give this room a little refresh!

I started by upgrading the rug (our old one had quite a few crayon/marker stains from the kids and coffee spills from yours truly πŸ’πŸ™ˆ and it was definitely time for it to go!). We needed something durable but comfortable, and I wanted something a bit warmer than the gray rug we had previously.

I went with the Serena + Lily Turnstone Rug in Earth -- it has the perfect warm neutral tone I was looking for in a fun but subtle pattern. And best of all, it can be hosed down to clean it!!! It's actually an indoor / outdoor rug, but you'd never know it because the material is so soft and cozy. It's so easy to clean and can definitely stand up to whatever my kids (literally) throw at it! πŸ˜‚

Next I swapped out the art work for something in a more soothing, neutral tone that feels earthy yet coastal. I borrowed these prints from our master bathroom (both are by Deb Presutto) and I love how they pull in both warm and cool neutrals at the same time. These are 2 of my favorite pieces ever -- I've used them so many times and they look great everywhere!

As much as I love them in here, I'm thinking of replacing these pieces with 1 or 2 other prints to bring in some more warm / brown tones, and so my master bathroom doesn't feel so sad without these 😏 I think these 2 (also by Deb Presutto!) would be perfect, don't you?!

Next, it was time for a pillow upgrade! Again, I wanted to bring in some warmer neutrals, with lots of texture and character. On the malawi chair, I used the Serena +  Lily Luca Pillow in Fog -- I love the subtle greige stripe with the playful pom pom fringe!

On the daybed, I used the Serena + Lily Ashby Pillow in Fog the center, flanked by the Camille Diamond Medallion Pillow in Ivory/Black for a fun mix of patterns. I love the juxtaposition of the classic window pane pattern on the Ashby pillow with the funky batik vibes of the Camille ❤

Finally, I layered in some vintage hemp and Turkish kilim pillows in warm browns and tans to add lots of warmth and texture to the space. I topped it off with the Serena + Lily Topanga Linen Throw in Ivory (my favorite throw!). This is now officially the coziest spot to snuggle up for story time! πŸ˜„

Finally, many of you have been asking what I did with my round black mirror that used to be in my entryway when I replaced it with this one... well, here it is!!  I love it in this space -- the placement directly across from the 2 windows doubles the natural light and makes the whole room feel so much bigger and brighter! And I love how the black accents tie everything together!

Next, I would love to update the lighting in this room to bring in even more texture and warm tones! Maybe an oversized lamp like this one or this one on the cubby shelf, or some cute sconces like these next to the mirror, and a warm woven pendant in the center of the room! Here is a mood board I designed for the space to help visualize the overall look I am working towards:

Modern Coastal Updates with Raffia

Hi friends! I'm so excited to share with you some new updates to my living room! I partnered with Serena + Lily to add some modern coastal details with their beautiful Blake raffia pieces.

First off is this gorgeous coffee table. I've had my eye on this table for years and feel so fortunate to finally have it here in my own living room! It's such a nice change from the gray table I had in here before (which is now out on our patio -- stay tuned for an update + outdoor living room tour!).

The clean lines of the parsons style feel modern yet classic, and the tone + texture of the raffia add such a fresh coastal feeling to this space!

I styled it here with Serena + Lily's Spinnaker tray and Milo throw in oatmeal to layer in some textured neutrals!

A little close-up action of that gorgeous raffia :)

I also added the Blake raffia mirror to our stair wall to tie these spaces together. I used to have a smaller round mirror here and I am loving the larger scale and shape of this one!

Also featured in this space are Serena + Lily's La Jolla Baskets (my favorite toy storage bins!) and the South Seas side cart in black.

This mirror has such a beautiful brass detail in each of the corners -- I love how this ties in with the brass accents in the kitchen and makes the mirror feel so polished.

All sources are linked in this post -- tap below to shop this look! I've also rounded up all of my favorite pieces from the Blake line at Serena + Lily (so hard to choose my favorites... I love them all!).

Bar Cart 2 Ways: Party & Every Day

Just in time for New Year's Eve, I'm sharing how I style our bar cart for every day, and for a special occasion... like celebrating the beginning of a new decade!! I partnered with Serena + Lily to style their South Seas Side Cart in 2 ways to show how versatile this piece can be (and it's on casters so it is so easy to move around from room to room!). Although I'm showing it here in my kitchen, I think this piece would also work really well as a side table, night stand, bathroom storage, or even a changing table in a nursery!

Style #1: Every Day

Here I've styled the South Seas Side Cart with a few items from around the house, including my favorite Poetto Vase filled with ruscus stems (these things are about $5 a bunch and last forever!). I love the contrast of the neutral styling with the black cart -- coastal with a modern twist! The art is "Tranquility" by Deb Presutto.

Style #2: Party!

Now for the fun part! 😁 Here, I kept the Poetto Vase but swapped out the books etc. for a few of our favorite libations! I used some basic glasses we have but I think these would be a really nice upgrade with a fun coastal vibe!

How ever you ring in the new year, I hope 2020 begins with a smile for you! Wishing you peace, wellness and joy!
